2012 GT-R HKS DCT Cooler Kit
This past week we've been busy wrenching to meet deadlines and customer satisfaction. We always like to keep you guys updated on new items coming out and what not. This post will be about the new HKS DCT Cooler Kit for 2012 GT-R's and up. Because of the new bumper design of the 2012+ GT-R's, HKS had to redesign their current DCT cooler to work with the 2012+ bumper. The ver.1 and ver.2 both work exactly the same, but is shaped differently. So based upon which year GT-R you have, you would order accordingly.
The main job of the DCT cooler is to direct cool air into the cooler to lower transmission fluid temps. In addition to lowering fluid temps, it also expands the lifespan of the fluid, transitions smoother shifts and decreases the chances of going into the inbuilt safety limp mode.
HKS tested their new DCT cooler at Fuji Speedway and noticed a decrease in temperature by 6.2%.
What you're greeted with when you take everything out of the box.
The kit comes with brackets made to mount the cooler in the perfect spot.
You can see here the AN lines fit nice and snug up in there behind the cooler...
As well as flows nicely under the chassis with the brackets provided.
As mentioned in the HKS description, there is some modifications to be made to the front bumper ducting area.
That looks good... that looks really good. It's as if it were a factory item from Nissan.
